Windows Update appears to be broken for some users in the US and UK. According to reports, it isn’t Microsoft’s fault, but is linked to Comcast in the US and BT for the UK users. Unfortunately, some users tried to clean install their Windows 10 to address the issue, but it didn’t work.

A quick workaround that seems to be fixing the issue for many is to simply change the DNS to Google’s public DNS. A user confirmed on the Comcast Xfinity community forum that they were indeed able to get Windows updates after changing their device’s IPV4 and IPV6 DNS from Comcast’s default to Google public DNS (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4).
