Nearly half a year after a $1 million county government history book manuscript authored by the wife of a former South Bay politician was found to have contained copied paragraphs from numerous sources, the county appears to be no closer to resolving the controversy.

In interviews this week, top county leaders — including County Counsel James Williams and County Executive Jeff Smith — said that no one in their departments have spoken with Jean McCorquodale, the wife of former county supervisor and state Sen. Dan McCorquodale.
