Holiday travelers and skiers needing a hearty breakfast or platter of country-fried steak while on the road will have a new option starting Monday, Dec. 2.

The Cracker Barrel, which bills itself as America’s “old country store,” is opening its second Northern California restaurant and will start serving customers at 6 a.m. in Rocklin.
