SAN JOSE — A company with a new approach to helping people move or store their stuff has bought a large San Jose vacant lot that’s suitable for development.

Zippy Shell, acting through an affiliate, has bought a north San Jose property next to a big FedEx logistics and warehouse building for $12 million, documents filed on Dec. 30 with the Santa Clara County Recorder’s Office show.
