As the Oak Fire’s spread slows, some evacuation orders are being lifted in Mariposa County, and Highway 140 has reopened.

As of Wednesday morning, the wildfire had burned 18,715 acres (29.2 square miles) and was 32% contained, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection said.
