SAN JOSE — Several high-profile projects in downtown San Jose are slated to open with their first tenants during 2023 or to start construction sometime next year, offering a possible boost for the city’s battered urban core.

Real estate firm Urban Catalyst is making steady progress on a revamp of a long-shuttered movie theater, a new residential tower, a student housing highrise, a senior residential complex and a project with an office tower and a housing highrise, according to the company’s principal executive, Erik Hayden.
