Urban Plates, a fast-casual chain with an organic philosophy and a made-from-scratch kitchen, has opened its first South Bay location in Sunnyvale and is already planning one for Santana Row.

The chain, founded in San Diego County a decade ago, first expanded to the Bay Area with a Dublin eatery in 2015 and then a Pleasant Hill one in 2016. In Sunnyvale, the eatery joined CityLine, a massive mixed-use development of housing, office and retail; the restaurant seats 135 indoors and outdoors.
