MONTEREY — Amid claims of false advertising and unlicensed practice of medicine, Monterey-based Health Alert/Immune Systems and its owner have entered into a stipulated agreement that includes a $1.5 million penalty, the Monterey County District Attorney’s Office announced Tuesday.

In June 2021, the DA’s Office filed a lawsuit against Health Alert and owner Bruce West alleging that the company made false and misleading advertising statements regarding dietary supplements sold through various marketing media, including a monthly advertising periodical titled “Health Alert – When All Other Treatments Fail,” and the former website www.healthalert.com.
