SAN JOSE – It wasn’t long after Mike Grier was officially named the Sharks’ general manager Tuesday that he was on a flight to Montreal to join in the team’s preparations for the upcoming NHL Draft.

Soon after that, Grier will delve more into free agency, which begins next week. Then he’ll begin the process of searching for the team’s next head coach.
