JACKSON, Calif. – Firefighters on Tuesday gained some ground against the Electra Fire raging along the Amador-Calaveras county line, but more than 1,200 structures remained threatened and portions of both counties were still under evacuation orders.

As of 9 p.m., the wildfire covered 3,900 acres and was 5% contained, according to the Cal Fire Amador-El Dorado Unit.
