OAKLAND — A 9-year-old boy died in a hospital days after a car he was in was struck by an Amtrak train at an unmarked private crossing in unincorporated Brentwood, a crash that has now killed four people and injured two.

The boy, identified by the Alameda County coroner as Julian Nieves, of Dixon, was taken off life support three days after the June 26 crash, according to authorities. He died at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital in Oakland.
