A wildfire that started Monday afternoon prompted evacuation orders east of Jackson, in the foothills of Amador County.

The Electra Fire started near a Pacific Gas & Electric powerhouse on the North Fork of the Mokelumne River. As of 7 p.m. Monday, it was 959 acres with no containment, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection said.
