It’s going to take more than a global pandemic to slow the booming economic engine that is Silicon Valley’s real estate market, according to the latest property data from Santa Clara County.

The assessed value of all property in the county has reached a record-breaking $619.9 billion — a nearly 7.5% increase over the year before. That’s a major boost even for pricey Silicon Valley, and it comes despite the COVID-19 pandemic that experts worried would put a damper on the region’s prosperity.
