Although Californians have always paid the steepest gas prices in the U.S., the fallout from Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has some Golden State drivers paying more than $6 per gallon for regular unleaded fuel in recent weeks.

But a slight decline in the state’s average gas price, from $5.919 to $5.910 Wednesday, could spell promising news in the weeks ahead.
