Another record was broken Tuesday in California for the highest average gas price at $5.75 a gallon — the highest in the country — but a dramatic drop in crude oil prices are signaling that prices could be on their way down in the weeks ahead, according to experts.
California average gas prices went up by one cent Tuesday and is nearly 30 cents more expensive than it was a week ago, according to the American Automobile Association. The highest national average price was recorded Friday at $4.33 a gallon.
