SUNNYVALE — A fast-expanding tech company that is seeking more elbow room in Silicon Valley and adjacent areas has widened a Bay Area shopping spree for properties in Sunnyvale and Union City.

Fortinet, a Silicon Valley cybersecurity firm, has bought a large Union City property occupied by a Macy’s Furniture Outlet, according to documents filed on March 1 with the Alameda County Recorder’s Office.
