While national gas prices have slowly declined over the past week, ticking down to $4.27 a gallon Friday, Californians haven’t seen much of those benefits at the pump — their average prices are still going up.

“The drop in gas demand is contributing to price decreases, but the recent reversal in oil prices is creating greater downward pressure on pump prices,” said the AAA in a news release. “If the oil price continues to decline, pump prices will likely follow suit.”
