MOUNTAIN VIEW — Authorities have identified the pedestrian hit and killed by Caltrain on Monday at the Rengstorff Avenue crossing, marking the commuter line’s first fatality of the year.

A woman, identified by the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office as 85-year-old Yuqun Yang of Mountain View, was hit at 10:56 a.m. by southbound train #112, according to Caltrain spokesperson Dan Lieberman. Emergency personnel arrived at the scene and trains were held during the investigation.
