SAN JOSE – Authorities were investigating an in-custody death at the Santa Clara County Main Jail in San Jose.

Deputies were conducting a routine check at about 1 a.m. Sunday when they found a 27-year-old male inmate dead inside his cell, Deputy Russell Davis of the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
