With his top hat and tuxedo, Mr. Monopoly must have felt at home in tech wealthy Silicon Valley on Wednesday. Then again, where else but San Jose could the legendary board game’s mascot probably qualify for affordable housing?

That Silicon Valley allure — and San Jose’s standing as the nation’s 10th largest city — helped make it a good candidate for its own edition of the legendary board game. And don’t forget we’re home to Monopoly in the Park, the world’s largest Monopoly board game, which is where the announcement was made Wednesday morning.
