The forecast for a punishing storm system heading into the Bay Area on Wednesday is no longer a warning but is now a harbinger of flooding, landslides and possible power outages that residents should brace and be ready for, forecasters and authorities say.
Across the region, the prospect of widespread road closures and other disruptions were being treated as certainties rather than possibilities by emergency officials, as a “rapidly deepening” low-pressure system coming from Hawaii arrives in the second half of Wednesday, dovetailed by a warm front that will lead to steady rains, according to the National Weather Service.
