SAN JOSE — A regional transit agency’s pursuit of an information office for future BART stations in downtown San Jose is poised to displace two long-time merchants in a prime location.

The Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority has struck a deal to lease space on the ground floor of 2 North Market St. in San Jose, which is at one of the busy intersections in the city’s downtown.
