SAN JOSE — A curving tower of offices and homes, along with two nearby housing highrises, are poised to transform and reshape downtown San Jose’s boxy skyline in the wake of different approvals by city officials.

One project would create a mixed-use tower of office spaces and residences in a unique curved shape at 35 S. Second St. in San Jose. An alliance of global developer Westbank and local developer Urban Community, which is headed up by real estate entrepreneurs Gary Dillabough and Jeff Arrillaga, is leading this project.
