SAN JOSE — A big project of affordable homes could sprout near a San Jose BART station under a proposal being floated with city planners.

The development would consist of 195 apartments providing affordable and supportive housing on a site near the Berryessa BART station in San Jose, preliminary plans on file at City Hall show.
