MENLO PARK — A so-far relentless surge of job cuts in the once-robust tech industry could imperil what has already been a sluggish rebound by the Bay Area’s employment market from coronavirus-linked woes, experts say.

“These tech layoffs could affect other companies,” said Russell Hancock, president of Joint Venture Silicon Valley, a San Jose-based think tank. “A sneeze in the tech sector could mean the flu for the rest of the job market.”
