The Mosquito Fire has exceeded 30,000 acres, crossing into El Dorado County and sending heavy smoke over the Lake Tahoe area.
On Saturday evening, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection said the fire was 37,326 acres (58 square miles), with no containment.
