A Richmond man who recently avoided murder charges in the killing of 23-month-old Jasper Wu on an Oakland freeway has pleaded guilty to a weapons charge stemming from the shootout.

Johnny Ray Jackson Jr. pleaded guilty Thursday to possession of a firearm by a felon. He also pleaded guilty to numerous sentencing enhancements, which were tied to a prior conviction of assault with a deadly weapon in January 2022.
