SAN JOSE — A man was shot and killed early Monday in a neighborhood southwest of downtown San Jose, according to police.

Police were called at 1:07 a.m. to Virginia and Prevost streets, near the connector for Interstate 280 and Highway 87, for reports of a shooting. Officers found an injured man; he was taken to a hospital, where he died.
