Capcom has done plenty of things right with “Monster Hunter Rise.” The developers streamlined quests to make them shorter and more accessible. They improved traversal options for maps that have grown increasingly large and complex. It’s a game that is more welcoming to play than its predecessors.

It’s not perfect though and one of the few places that it faltered is in content. Despite the large roster of monsters, the quick pace of the hunts and the limited maps make the game feel short. Capcom has addressed the issue with free title updates that introduce new monsters and armor sets for “Monster Hunter Rise.” The first one introduced elder dragons such as Chameleos, Teostra and Kushala Daora. The developers also threw in Bazelgeuse, triggering bad memories for longtime veterans, and a few Apex monsters.
