It’s been a long time since fans were treated to a Nintendo Direct. More specifically, it’s been 530 days but other than hard-core fans, who’s counting? The maker of all things Mario didn’t disappoint with its Feb. 17 announcements showing games coming in the near future and few in the far distance.

The roughly 50-minute presentation kicked off with the announcement of new “Super Smash Bros. Ultimate” fighter. This time, it’s Pyra and Mythra from “Xenoblade Chronicles 2.” After that, a slew of Nintendo Switch ports filled the presentation. The most exciting of those was “Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout.” That’s a big get for the system along with the likes of the criminally underrated “Outer Wilds” and popular battle royale title “Apex Legends.”
