One person was killed and three others injured in a string of unrelated shootings in San Jose early Saturday morning, police said.

San Jose police on Saturday were investigating a crime scene in the 100 block of Jackson Street in the Japantown neighborhood, where a shooting occurred early that morning, department officials said. One person who had been taken privately to a local hospital later died from their injuries and the incident was being investigated as a homicide, the fifth so far in 2021 in San Jose.
