Under a contract that gives it control over the state’s vaccine rollout, health insurance giant Blue Shield intends to make it possible to vaccinate 3 million per week by March 1.

The 55-page contract between Blue Shield and California, which was made public Monday, comes after Gov. Gavin Newsom announced Blue Shield would take over the administration of the vaccines in an effort to fix a sluggish, confusing rollout.
