This week, California Gov. Gavin Newsom touted that the state has tripled its rate of administering coronavirus vaccines. Indeed, after a slow start, the pace has increased from 43,459 doses per day on Jan. 4 to 131,620 doses on Jan. 15. In addition, the number of doses administered keeps climbing thanks to improved processes.
As of Jan. 25, 2.4 million vaccine doses have been administered out of an allotment of 4.5 million. At approximately 120,000 Californians vaccinated a day, the state is on pace to deliver toward President Biden’s goal of 100 million vaccines in 100 days, according to the statement from the governor.
