Former Warner Bros. Communications Chief Dee Dee Myers has been selected as senior advisor to Gov. Gavin Newsom and director of the governor’s office of business and economic development.

Myers stepped down earlier this year as executive vice president of worldwide corporate communications and public affairs for Warner Bros. after a five-year run at the studio. She joined the studio after a distinguished career that included a stint as White House press secretary during President Bill Clinton’s first term — the first woman to hold the position.
