SAN JOSE — A Texas group wants to launch an axe-throwing venture at a long-shuttered nightclub site, a proposal that could help combat downtown San Jose’s coronavirus-linked maladies.

The former VooDoo Lounge, which in 2011 closed its doors, is the proposed downtown San Jose site where the axe-throwing venue would operate, according to documents on file with city planners.
