The mandatory evacuation area for the Dixie Fire grew by 100 square miles Sunday as an arm of the wildfire extended toward Plumas County’s eastern edge.

The new area, largely unpopulated, is east of Genesee and north of Lake Davis. The town of Janesville, on Highway 395, is under a warning.
