All the national forests in Northern California will be closed from Monday, Aug. 23, through Labor Day because of fire danger, the Forest Service announced Thursday.

The shutdown is in addition to the longer closures announced this week for the Eldorado National Forest and parts of the Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit because of the Caldor Fire.
