SAN JOSE — Several hundred affordable homes could sprout near the tech hubs of north San Jose, under a preliminary proposal that’s being floated at City Hall.

The development, proposed for a site at 71 Vista Montana in San Jose, would consist of 509 affordable homes, according to documents filed with San Jose city planners.
