A San Jose home known as the place where world-renowned rock band The Doobie Brothers got its start is headed for a historic nod.

San Jose’s Historic Landmarks Commission voted unanimously Wednesday night to recommend city leaders make the Craftsman-style home at 285 South 12th Street a historic city landmark. The city council will make the final call in the coming weeks.
