During a visit to an elementary school in San Bernardino on Friday to tout the return of in-person school, Gov. Gavin Newsom said he has no immediate plans to require teachers to be vaccinated against the coronavirus.

“We’re confident in the approach we’re taking at the moment,” the governor said, pointing to improved ventilation, access to personal protective equipment, deep cleaning and the state’s requirement that teachers, staff and students wear masks.
