President Biden Thursday announced the federal government’s 2 million civilian workers will either have to get vaccinated or regularly tested for COVID-19 in an effort to spur vaccinations as infections driven by the highly contagious delta variant soar across the country.

“Every federal government employee will be asked to attest to their vaccination status,” Biden said in his announcement. “Anyone who does not attest or is not vaccinated will be required to mask no matter where they work, test one or two times a week to see if they’ve acquired COVID, socially distance and generally will not be allowed to travel for work.”
