SAN JOSE — A pedestrian who was hit and killed by a motorist early Wednesday in East San Jose has been identified as an elderly man from Mexico, authorities said.

At about 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, 79-year-old Arturo Plancarte was standing between crosswalks on eastbound McKee Road near Jose Figueres Avenue when the driver of a 2020 Subaru hit him, police said.
