SAN JOSE — A large hotel is in the works for a site that’s close to a transit-oriented neighborhood in downtown San Jose that Google has proposed, a fresh indicator the tech titan’s project could spur additional development.

The hotel would be built at 945 W. Julian St. at the corner of Morrison Avenue in the Garden Alameda district of San Jose, which is just west of the city’s downtown, according to city planning documents.
