Carmen Sánchez and Manuel Ávalos have been close friends ever since they first met at John Muir Middle School in San Jose.

They had often discussed, usually in a joking way, doing a podcast together. Then the pandemic hit, and they got more serious about the endeavor — in part because it gave them a way to stay in touch with each other.
