SANTA CRUZ — The Santa Cruz County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday approved in concept an amendment to the county code that delays the implementation of a fee for disposable cups.

Because of the board’s unanimous decision, a mandatory charge will not be collected until July 1 of this year. Final adoption is scheduled for Jan. 25.
