Workers in healthcare settings, nursing homes, homeless shelters and correctional facilities in Santa Clara County will be required to get a booster shot by Jan. 24, Health Officer Dr. Sara Cody announced Tuesday morning.

The mandate will affect about 150,000 workers at both public and private institutions in the county and comes as COVID-10 cases spawned by the omicron variant soar across the region.
