Break out the holly! The holidays have officially arrived. This may be the season of caring but some folks definitely devote more time and money to helping the less fortunate than others. Some cities, for instances, are famed for being compassionate. Others, not so much.
In order to pinpoint the places that care the most, the personal finance website WalletHub compared the 100 largest cities across 39 key benchmarks of a compassionate spirit. The data they gathered ranges from the share of homeless persons who are being sheltered and the number of volunteer hours per capita to the portion of income donated to charity.
