SAN JOSE — Early Christmas morning, shortly after she allegedly ran over the man she had been dating, Sabrina Marie Gutierrez reportedly told her mother that she had “pulled an Elsie.”

It was an apparent reference to Elsie De La Rosa, who was sentenced to prison last year for hitting and killing a friend with her car in Campbell in 2017. Records show De La Rosa, who pleaded guilty to vehicular manslaughter, shares a child with Gutierrez’s brother.
