Q: Gary, I posted this on the Nextdoor webpage in Santa Cruz and had a couple of suggestions to send it off to you. Not sure if it’s worthy of your column but it does reflect my feeling after driving Highway 17 in miserable weather late at night.

My plane came in late at the San Jose airport and I had to drive Highway 17 during a very stormy, foggy, windy night. All I can say after that stormy drive is thank you to Caltrans, the Regional Transportation Commission, the contractor and anybody else who helped in the construction of all the improvements on the Santa Cruz side.
