SAN FRANCISCO — Four people were killed in a two-vehicle crash in San Francisco, closing down a section of Highway 101 going northbound in the early hours of Thursday morning.

At about 12:24 a.m., California Highway Patrol received multiple calls that a motorist was driving the wrong way on northbound Highway 101 just south of the Paul Avenue exit, near Candlestick Point. Just a few minutes later, at about 12:29 a.m., CHP officers driving nearby encountered the two-vehicle crash, said spokesperson Bert Diaz.
